The forefoot is much roomier and perhaps a bit sloppy for very technical terrain, but I actually like them much better than Speedgoat 2s for technical terrain. They are also considerably more flexible than Speedgoat 2s. Running on muddy trails with rocks and roots the shoes provided good protection and traction. On packed snow and ice they've done really well, again providing good protection and traction. I've ended up liking them more than the Speedgoat 2s, which I really liked as well. Sizing down a 1/2 size might help if you like a snugger fit. I normally wear a size 13 (but sometimes a 12.5) and stuck with a size 13.

The upper feels like it could stretch overtime. I feel like if the upper was improved this would be an even better shoe.
